HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado scored 14 runs in the first inning and rolled to a 22-9 victory in 5A South softball action on Monday. The Lady Wildcats improved to 3-6 in league play.

Sophomore Jaelynn Dumas went 2-for-5 with a double and a grand slam along with five RBI to power El Dorado’s offense. Delaney Loyd was 2-for-3 with four RBI.  Kaycee Otwell and Hollis Smith added two hits apiece for the Lady Wildcats, who had 12 hits in the five-inning game.

El Dorado’s 14-run first inning included a two-run triple by Loyd and doubles by Dumas, JaMiyah Davis and Smith, who also had a single in the inning.

The Lady Wildcats added six in the third, including Dumas’ grand slam. Alysa Wilson and Otwell both hit triples in the inning.

Otwell pitched 2 ⅓ innings, allowing eight runs on five hits with five walks and two strikeouts. Dumas pitched 2 ⅔ innings, giving up one run on three walks with two strikeouts.
