The Farmers Market at MAD will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today at the Murphy Arts District Amphitheatre.
Paint the Town Pink planned
To kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness month, #teamcorrie Cancer Foundation is hosting the 11th Annual Paint the Town Pink on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. with a family friendly 5k Color Run/Walk through the beautiful downtown El Dorado. The theme this year is Kissing Cancer Goodbye.
Again this year, in addition to the traditional family friendly 5K Color Run/Walk, there will be a competitive 5K race to begin the race in memory of Leslie Darden, who was a competitive runner before her battle with breast cancer. Leslie was a #teamcorrie grant recipient, who also raised money for #teamcorrie to help other cancer warriors.
Sponsorships, donations still open for Hispanic Heritage Celebration
The Hispanic Heritage Celebration: "Mi Tierra (My Land) Fest" is set for 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown El Dorado and organizers said there are still opportunities to help host the festival. The celebration commemorates National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) and is presented by Centro Christiano El Dorado. Mi Tierra will include authentic Hispanic food, folkloric dancers, mariachis, games, trivia, live music and more from all Hispanic countries that are represented in El Dorado. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Organizers are still seeking sponsorships to help cover the cost of some activities, including mariachis and other live entertainment, that must be brought in from out of town. Opportunities for sponsorships, donation and other resources will still be available after the festival, El Dorado City Council Member Willie McGhee said. Car show set
The Cruise Night car show will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today on Union Square, Washington Street, in El Dorado.
Bingo night scheduled
The VFW will be hosting BINGO! every Saturday night. Quarter Bingo starts at 5 p.m. and Regular Bingo starts at 7 p.m.
The VFW is located at 451 Industrial Rd.
Elvis at MAD
Doors open for The King Lives, an Elvis tribute concert at First Financial Music Hall, at 6 p.m. The guest emcee will be Charles Stone, former tour manager for Elvis. Tickets are available at eldomad.com

Miss MusicFest pageant planned
The annual Miss MusicFest pageant will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorim, 100 W. Eighth.
