HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado cheer competed in the Southern Spirit Federation Saturday, finishing fourth in the 5-6A Senior Game Day division. The Lady Wildcats totaled 94.90 to place behind Searcy (96.07), Fort Smith Southside (95.47) and Alma (95.17).

El Dorado was third after the qualifying round.

“We had a bobble in the cheer that hurt our score and a couple other little mistakes,  however we are on the right track,” said El Dorado coach Tab Bledsoe. “Our scores in prelims proves that we fixed our cheer and honestly would have ranked higher but we busted a couple tucks.”

El Dorado won high point in the band dance and also had the strongest stunt group.

“This weekend was like mini state,” said Bledsoe. “There is so much competition in our division and everyone is so good. It literally comes down to who is most perfect at that given time and hopefully that will be us when the time's right. We always want to peak in December. So, still plenty of time. I’m thrilled that we pulled a finals spot today with how good the other teams are.”
