West Side Christian collects victories at Columbia Christian Classic

MAGNOLIA - West Side Christian’s varsity girls improved to 7-0 on the season after a 42-25 victory over New Life Christian on Saturday at the Columbia Christian Classic.

Camille McKnight led the Lady Warriors with 17 points. Carley Bain and Victoria Colley scored seven and six, respectively.

“We jumped out early defensively. We’re really making a lot of plays, rebounding well and running the floor,” said Coach Randall Miller. “We really were focused from the beginning especially and we got a lot of stuff from our transition game.”

West Side’s boys topped Legacy Christian Saturday 55-42. The Warriors improved to 7-1 on the season.

Nathan Pearson led West Side with 22 points while Cayson Martin added 16.

On Friday, the Lady Warriors downed Gospel Light Christian (Hot Springs) 44-34.

Jenna McAdams and McKnight scored 12 points apiece with Bain adding 10 and Vivian Conley five.

The Warriors beat Valley Christian (Russellville) 43-37. Pearson scored 20 points while Elijah Narciso added 10 and Martin eight.

“Valley Christian has a 6-8 kid who’s inside and outside. He was a handful," said Miller.

"Stephen played well against him defensively. We really did a good job in the second half and held them to 11 and kind of pulled away late.”

Stephen Spencer scored 18 and Martin 17 in a 54-48 win over New Life Christian (Little Rock).
