Lady Trojans fall to Heber Springs

LITTLE ROCK - Three games in three days proved a difficult hurdle to clear for Parkers Chapel’s girls, who fell to Heber Springs 43-31 Saturday morning in the Heavenly Hoopfest Tournament, hosted by Mount St. Mary’s.

The Lady Trojans, who beat Hampton 60-37 Friday night, fell to 4-2.

Class 4A Heber Springs jumped out to a 13-3 lead, holding Parkers Chapel without a field goal in the first period. The Lady Panthers led 23-14 at the half before outscoring the Lady Trojans 16-4 in the third.

Addison Hudspeth led Heber Springs with 23 points, including four 3-pointers.

Grace Rainwater led Parkers Chapel with eight points.

On Friday, Kallie Martin scored 18 points and Bella Frisby contributed 15 in the Lady Trojans’ win over Hampton.

The Lady Bulldogs built a 12-5 lead after one quarter before Parkers Chapel outscored them 19-5 in the second and led 24-17 at the half.

Alijah Stephens led Hampton with 16 points while Amariah Swygart drained three 3-pointers.

Hampton won the junior girls’ game 34-16. Kinley Welch scored six for the Lady Trojans, who slipped to 2-2 on the season.
