KidsNGolf has announced the schedule for its upcoming Junior Golf Camp.
KidsNGolf is a nonprofit organization that seeks to teach children life skills through the game of golf.
The 2023 El Dorado Junior Golf Camp will serve Union County boys and girls who are 8 t0 14-years old. Golf instruction will be tailored to individual age and skill levels. Leading instruction will be KidsNGolf coaches and staff.
This year's Junior Golf Camp will be held at the Lions Club Municipal Golf Course from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, June 12, through Thursday, June 15.
The cost for the camp is $50. Scholarships are available.
"Since 2014 this has been an annual community event and is such a great way for kids to start their summer," said Art Noyes, executive director of KidsNGolf. "Golf camp lets us introduce the game of golf to many young people who have never been on a golf course before."
The golf camp is limited to the first 30 to sign up in order to ensure adequate student-to-coach ratios.
During the camp, mornings will be divided into 45-minute instruction segments; coaches will be assigned to different groups of students based on their proficiency levels.
Time will also be set aside each day to discuss the life skills and values that are inherent in the game of golf and important in life.
Mornings will end with lunch on the front clubhouse patio.
On Thursday, June 15, campers' parents will be invited to an award ceremony, where players' efforts, conduct and improvement throughout the week-long camp will be recognized.
