EPD: Amarion Robinson, 13, considered missing

A 13-year-old El Dorado boy was still considered missing Monday, according to the Arkansas Crime Information Center.

Colleen Nick, executive director of the Morgan Nick Foundation, a nonprofit that provides resources to families of missing children, said Lt. Jarod Primm of the El Dorado Police Department's Criminal Investigative Division also confirmed Amarion Robinson's status with her Monday morning.

"We had a lot of comments on his post, 'his mom knows where he's at,' and that is a real possibility, but law enforcement hasn't seen him, and he's not home, so his missing person's case is still open," Nick said.

Primm acknowledged that the EPD is working with the MNF to spread the word about the case.

Last Friday, the EPD shared on its Facebook page a "Missing Persons" flier that was generated by the MNF and had also been posted onto the foundation's Facebook page.

Primm said Robinson's mother reported him missing on April 13. The teen had reportedly run away and his mother told officers she last saw him on April 4.

Officers also learned that Robinson had been fitted with a GPS monitoring device and the device had gone blank prior to his being reported missing.

"He had removed the GPS. We don't know when it was removed or why he was wearing it," Primm said.

While investigating a report of an unrelated incident at Go Rainbow Food Mart, 2110 Junction City Road, on April 20, police spotted Robinson in video footage that was recorded by the store's surveillance/security system, confirming that the boy had been inside the store the same day.

"So, he was last seen on April 20," Primm said.

Primm said information that included a time stamp of when the boy was captured on the surveillance video was not readily available.

Like Nick, Primm said investigators have also heard talk throughout the community that Robinson's mother is aware of his whereabouts.

"We have talked to his mother and she has not confirmed that with us. At this point, the investigation is ongoing. We don't have any leads about where he is or where he might be," said Primm.

"We certainly hope Amarion is safe, but until law enforcement puts eyes on him, they won't close that case," Nick said. "His friends could be saying one thing, and there could be an entirely different situation, so they have to lay eyes on him."

Primm urged anyone with information on Robinson's whereabouts to call the CID 870-881-4810.

Amarion is described as Black, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
