El Dorado downs Magnolia for fifth straight victory

MAGNOLIA – It’s been quite a week for El Dorado’s bats.

After scoring 10 runs in a victory over Camden Fairview in the first of two games on Thursday, the Wildcats capped their big week by scoring double digits for the fifth straight game in an 11-1 win over Magnolia in the nightcap.

The Wildcats scored six runs in the first en route to their fifth straight victory.

Mitchell Polk, one of three players with two hits in the game, drove in three runs for the Wildcats.

Holden Lowry, Justin Dumas and Xorian Robinson all collected two RBIs for EHS.

Lowry got the rally in the first started with a double, and he scored moments later on a double by Sam York.

After a walk to Jake Webster-Moore, the duo engineered a double steal to put runners at second and third.

Hunter Lawrence then followed with a sacrifice fly to push El Dorado’s lead to 2-0.

Webster-Moore went to third on the play and scored on a single by Dumas to make it 3-0.

After a single by Robinson put two runners on, a passed ball allowed the runners to advance into scoring position, and Polk delivered a two-run single to left to give the Wildcats a 5-0 lead.

El Dorado later loaded the bases on a walk to Peyton Howard and a base hit by Shadarious Plummer, and Lowry was hit by a pitch to score Polk with the inning’s final run.

The Wildcats scored a pair of runs in the second.

El Dorado loaded the bases on a base hit by Webster-Moore and walks to Lawrence and Dumas before Robinson laced a two-run single to center to make it 8-0.

The Wildcats scored a run in the third on a fielder’s choice by Dumas that scored York, who had walked and went to third on a base hit by Lawrence.

In the fourth, Howard doubled and scored on a two-out single by Lowry.

El Dorado’s final run came in the fifth on a two-out hit by Polk.

Webster-Moore led off with a walk, took second on a ground out by Lawrence and third on a fly out by Dumas.

After Robinson was hit by a pitch, Polk doubled to left to pick up his third RBI of the game.

Lawrence got the start on the mound and picked up the win after working the first two innings.

He allowed two hits and one run along with two walks and one strikeout.

Jonah Davis worked two scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits with one walk and one strikeout.

Lowry recorded one strikeout in a hitless fifth inning.

El Dorado (10-3), who has scored 62 runs during their winning streak, returns to 5A South play on Tuesday when they host Hot Springs Lakeside.
