PARKERS CHAPEL - Thanks to a dominant pitching performance, Parkers Chapel rebounded from a tough loss last week.
Chris Greer and Cameron Mayo combined to strike out 15 batters as part of a five-hitter to lead the Trojans past Hermitage 8-3 at Robert McKinnon Park on Monday.
Greer struck out 11 while allowing four hits and two runs over 4 1/3 innings to pick up the win. He walked two.
Mayo picked up the save after working the final 2 2/3 innings. He allowed one hit and one run.
Mayo didn’t issue any walks and struck out four.
Mayo also had a big day at the plate by driving in three runs.
J.T. Ingram went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Trojans.
Although PC was held to just six hits, they were the recipients of 10 walks in the game. The Trojans also got their running game in high gear with 10 stolen bases in the contest with Greer finishing with four steals.
Sy Fife, Dyson Dougan and Mayo all had doubles, while Chandler Boykin had a single and drove in a run for the Trojans.
Paytin Greene had three of the Trojans’ 10 walks in the contest.
The Trojans will hit the road to take on Rison in an 8-2A clash on Wednesday.
