SouthArk welcomes new VP of student services

South Arkansas College on Tuesday announced Jenny Sanders will serve as its new vice president of student services.

Sanders comes to SouthArk from Southern Arkansas University Tech, where she was associate vice chancellor of student services and the college's registrar. Over her 17 years at SAU Tech she held a variety of different responsibilities in the area of student affairs, including student recruitment, admissions, counseling, testing, disability services and advising, among others.

She also has been a licensed professional counselor since 2007.

Sanders is in a doctoral program for community college leadership at Mississippi State University. Her research will focus on mental health treatment at community colleges.

She succeeds Dr. Derek Moore, who currently leads New Mexico Junior College as President.
