Phylis Diann Bolton was born into this world on August 26, 1959 to Tony and Lellar Mae Thurman Bolton in Monroe, Louisiana. She departed this world for her heavenly home on Saturday, January 15, 2023 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Phylis attended schools in Union Parish and graduated from Spearsville High School in Spearsville, Louisiana in 1978. After high school she entered the workforce at ConAgra Foods and later went on to become a CNA, and eventually an aide and van driver/assistant for South Arkansas Developmental Center in El Dorado, Arkansas until her health prevented her from doing so.
Phylis loved a good conversation with lots of laughs and colorful words, her Westerns, and hitting the highway. She would really put the pedal to the metal. To many children she was considered a neighborhood mom wherever she lived.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Bolton and Lora (Lola Jean) Moore, brother Tony Bolton, SR, her “son” Lawrence Nelson, JR, and her nephews David Bolton, Jerome Bolton, and Curry Bolton.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters Tiffany (Corey) Tatum and Deyounka “Shunta” (Aprentice) Harris; sons Gary Gibson and Channing (Ivy) Nelson; grandchildren Shawndre Gibson, Jamarrion Young-Gibson, Ka’Dabrion Nelson, Christopher Perry, Tabladine Marrable, her “TroubleTrouble” Zahir McNeil, Dynsty Archie and great niece who thought of her as grandmother figure Jacoreyia Rogan; sisters Ruth Ora (Willie) Smith, Daisy Watson Frazier; brothers Cornelius (Ann) Sawyer and Mack Bolton.
