VFW garage sale starts today
The VWF Post at 413 Industrial Rd. will host a garage sale starting today to support local veterans and veterans' programs. The garage sale will continue on Saturday, Oct. 1. It will be open both days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. New items will be available, priced to sell.
Paint the Town Pink registration packet pick-up today
Those who pre-registered for the Paint the Town Pink Color Run 5K or Leslie Darden Memorial 5K can pick up their registration packets today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the circle driveway on the north side of the Murphy USA building, 200 E. Peach St.
Deadline to register for MusicFest cookoff today
The deadline to register for the Lockheed Martin Rib Cookoff, which will be held during MusicFest on Oct. 8, is noon today. Late registrations will not be accepted. For more information, contact the Main Street El Dorado office at 870-862-4747.
Part of 5th Street to close
A portion of 5th street between Jefferson and Madison avenues will close today for Frolic on 5th, a tailgating-style event hosted by Hugh Goodwin Elementary.
The event is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. ahead of the El Dorado Wildcats game against the Searcy Lions, and will include food (hot dogs and popcorn will be free and cotton candy will be sold), games, face-painting, cheerleaders and performances by Hugh Goodwin students. The event is free and open to the public.
