Smackover, PC girls tennis pick up wins

SMACKOVER - Smackover closed out its home tennis schedule against Fordyce, winning 12 of the 15 matches on Thursday.

In boys’ singles, Evan Phillips won 6-1, 6-0 and Parker Evans won 6-0, 6-3.

In boys’ doubles, Dylan Hoover and Trey Hurst won 6-3, 6-2.

In girls’ singles, Taylor Darden won 6-2, 6-0 and Gracie James prevailed 6-3, 6-3.

In girls’ doubles, Abby Brewer and Kaleigh Jerry won 6-0 and Glenda Confortini and Rebecca Elia won 6-0.

“It has been a great week for the tennis team,” said Smackover coach Candy Phillips. “Hoping to keep the momentum going as we travel to Hampton on Monday and then to Camden on Thursday.”

Parkers Chapel’s tennis girls swept Hampton in conference action Thursday.

In girls’ singles, Abbey Williams won 6-2 and Delaney Gilmore won 6-2. In doubles, Kallie Martin and Bella Frisby won 6-1 while Tatum Watson and Makenzie Morgan won 6-4.

In boys’ singles, PC’s Jackson Dison won 6-3 while Jordis Battisto and Ashton Moss won 6-0 in boys’ doubles.
