R. C. Murray, age 96, of Waverly, Tennessee formerly of El Dorado passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at his daughter’s home.
R. C. was born on June 21, 1926 in Laran, LA; the son of Lucious and Beatrice Jones Murray. A veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Ranger. He was an electrician and member of IBEW Union 436 receiving his 70 year pin. R.C. also worked for the Union County Highway Department. He was a member of Dumas Memorial United Methodist Church.
R.C. was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Perry and L.D. Murray; a sister, Alma Lee Myers and his wife, Elaine Nale Murray.
Survivors are a daughter, Linda Lou Poole of Waverly, TN; a granddaughter, La Saundra Kohlmeyer (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Daniel Lee Bland, Lonnie Lynn Holt Kohlmeyer, Lainey Kohlmeyer; his brother, Granville Murray and sisters, Vera Shank and Lynn Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services by Young’s Funeral Directors will be 10:00 am, Monday, September 19, 2022 at Arlington Memorial Park.
