Unofficial election results in Union County

The Arkansas Secretary of State's Office posted unofficial results for the 2022 primary and nonpartisan elections Tuesday evening. 

According to the SOS's office, Natalie James received the most votes in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, with 425. Jack E. Foster followed with 220 votes, and Dan Whitfield was in third place with 186 votes. 

In the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat, incumbent Senator John Boozman won with 2,007 votes, according to the SOS's office. Jake Bequette followed with 471 votes. Jan Morgan received 392 votes and Heath Loftis, 55. 

In the Democratic primary for Arkansas Governor, Chris Jones garnered 522 votes, the most of all the Democratic candidates, according to the SOS's office. Anthony "Tony" Bland followed with 141 votes. Jay Martin was in third with 109 votes, followed by Supha Xayprasith-Mays with 52 votes and James "Rus" Russell III with 44 votes. 

In the Republican gubernatorial primary, Sarah Sanders won 2,612 votes to Francis "Doc" Washburn's 323. 

Attorney General Leslie Rutledge garnered the most votes in the Republican primary for Lieutenant Governor with 1,597, according to the SOS's office. State Sen. Jason Rapert trailed with 322 votes, followed by Greg Bledsoe with 281 votes; Doyle Webb with 240 votes; Chris Bequette with 233 votes; and Judge Joseph Wood with 164 votes. 

In the Republican primary for Arkansas Attorney General, Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin received 2,532 votes compared to Leon Jones, Jr.'s 251, according to the SOS's office. 

Anna Beth Gorman received 497 votes to win the Democratic primary for Arkansas Secretary of State, according to the SOS's office. Josh Price received 298 votes. 

Incumbent SOS John Thurston won the Republican primary for the seat with 2,186 votes, according to the office, while challenger Eddie Joe Williams received 539. 

In the Republican primary for State Treasurer, State Rep. Mark Lowery won with 2,010 votes. Sen. Mathew W. Pitsch received 673 votes, according to the SOS's office. 

Matt Stone received the most votes in Union County for the state Senate District 2 seat, with 1,800 votes cast in his favor. Beth Callaway followed with 727 votes, and James McMenis was in third with 377 votes. 

Union County voters supported Supreme Court Justice Karen Baker with 3,028 votes in the race for the position 6 Justice seat on the state Supreme Court. Challenger Judge Gunner DeLay received 1,127 votes. 

Supreme Court Associiate Justice Robin Wynne received 2,193 votes in the race for the state Supreme Court position 2 Justice. He was followed by Judge Chris Carnahan with 1,178 votes and David Sterling with 798 votes, according to the SOS's office. 


Jody Cunningham led in the race for Union County Treasurer with 2,187 votes to Lexie Kelley's 1,168. 


Steve Ward led in the District 4 race for Union County Justice of the Peace with 144 votes to incumbent Gary New's 94. 


In the Republican primary for the District 9 JP seat, incumbent Benny Vestal led with 289 votes to Patrick Harrell's 126. 


Frank Hash edged out Avo Vartennian for the El Dorado City Council Ward 1, Position 2 seat with 198 votes to 192, according to the unofficial results. 


George Calloway received 152 votes to incumbent Andre Rucks's 116 for the Ward 3, Position 2 seat. 


Buddy McAdams took 206 votes in the Ward 4, Position 1 race, compared to Janelle Williams's 66. 


Incumbent Strong Mayor Daryell Howell edged out challenger Charles Perry with 57 votes to 47.
