El Dorado's Rozier finishes fourth in heptathlon

FAYETTEVILLE - El Dorado senior Carshaila Rozier put the final stamp on her high school track career by finishing fourth in the Arkansas High School Heptathlon on Thursday.

Rozier totaled 4121 points to finish behind Fayetteville’s Kessiah Bemis (4477), Har Ber’s Kinleigh Hall (4176) and Fayetteville’s Hannah Estes (4159).

El Dorado’s Addrienna Gray placed 47th out of 78 girls in the two-day competition.

Strong’s Jeremy Jackson took 19th out of 65 competitors in the Arkansas High School Decathlon. Jackson scored 4787 points. El Dorado’s Quez Waller was 34th with 4299 and Strong’s Byron Maze was 38th with 4267.

Rozier won the high jump, clearing 5-3 and won the long jump, leaping 18-02.25. She was third in the 200 and a surprising 14th in the shot. She struggled in her other new events, finishing 10th in the 100 hurdles, 34th in the discus and 37th in the 800.

Beebe’s Adrian Carranco won the decathlon, scoring 6188 points. Cabot’s Quinn Hawkins was second with 5581 followed by Ashdown’s Shamar Easter (5565), Fayetteville’s Sloan Jones (5495) and Bentonville West’s Alexander Anderson (5479).
