BEE BRANCH - Hannah Nicholson delivered a dominant performance, firing a no-hitter to lead Tuckerman past Parkers Chapel 10-0 in the opening round of the 2A State Tournament on Thursday.

Nicholson fanned 10 for Tuckerman (24-5), the No. 1 seed from the Central who extended their winning streak to 14.

Tuckerman awaits the winner between McCrory and Flippin in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Parkers Chapel (9-11), the No. 4 seed from the South, qualified for the state tournament with a 19-16 win over Magnet Cove last week, but ended the year with three straight losses.
