"We're so excited to give two of our readers the chance to see Tracy Lawrence and Scott Walker up close! And we can't wait to hear about our community's favorite musical memories," said Robyn Yarbro, News-Times general manager.
The concert will be a homecoming of sorts for Lawrence, who attended college at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. With more than 13 million albums sold, Lawrence has garnered numerous Country Music Award and American Country Music awards and nominations, as well as a Grammy nomination.
Walker, known for hit singles like "What's It To You" and "Live Until I Die," has recorded 11 albums, the latest of which, "Texas to Tennessee," returns the artist to his traditional country roots. Since 1996, the artist has battled multiple sclerosis (MS) and has become an advocate for awareness about the disease, including through his own nonprofit, Band Against MS.
Byrd also hit the scene in the 1990's with the release of his number one single "Holdin' Heaven." Byrd received critical acclaim for his first self-produced album, "Different Things," which was named among Billboard magazine's Top 10 Country Albums of the Year in 2006.
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, with doors set to open at 6 p.m. Tickets area available for purchase from MAD.
