Parkers Chapel knocks off Woodlawn

PARKERS CHAPEL - Parkers Chapel fended off Woodlawn 37-33 on Friday to remain on the lead lap in the 2A-8 girls’ race. The Lady Trojans improved to 10-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

Parkers Chapel held the Lady Bears to 10 total points in the first half. The Lady Trojans led 9-5 after one quarter and 22-10 at the half.

Woodlawn outscored PC 10-3 in the fourth quarter to close the final margin.

Kallie Martin led the Lady Trojans with 13 points. Rebekah Hardy scored seven while Bella Frisby and Makenzie Morgan scored six points apiece.

Faith Hisaw and Anna Fitzgibbon led Woodlawn with 11 points each with Bailey Parker adding nine.

The Lady Trojans won the junior girls game 26-17 to improve to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. Krista Rivers led PC with 10 points.

JUNCTION CITY - The Lady Dragons struggled to score against Gurdon, which pulled away to the league win on Friday.

The Lady Go-Devils led 8-2 after one quarter and 15-9 at the half. The margin was 27-15 going into the final quarter.

Leslie Reddick led the Lady Dragons with 10 points.

Rayann Williams and Ashley Blalock led Gurdon with 10 and eight, respectively.
