Junction City knocks off Parkers Chapel

PARKERS CHAPEL – After a tough loss on Monday, Junction City rebounded with a win over a Union County rival.

Jamal Johnson led four players in double figures 18 points while grabbing five rebounds, and Ryan Allen added a double-double to lead Junction City past Parkers Chapel 66-20 on Tuesday night.

Jakourian Key had 15 points and six rebounds for the Dragons, who led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter and 32-12 at intermission en route to a road win.

Kamarian Dade had 12 points along with seven rebounds and three assists in the victory.

Allen had 10 points and 13 rebounds in his double-double effort.

In the junior boys game, Parkers Chapel came away with a 47-21 win.

The Trojans led 10-5 at the end of the opening period before extending their lead to 21-8 at halftime.

Dyson Dougan had 17 points and JT Ingram was also in double figures with 11 points for the Trojans.

Canon Jacobs added seven points for Parkers Chapel, who also got scoring contributions from Eli McNabb, Landon Black, Zach Gilmore, Dakylan Hampton and Owen Brown.

On Monday, the Dragons were upended by Fordyce 65-58 in overtime.

The Dragons led 41-35 at the end of the third quarter, but the Redbugs rallied in the final stanza to force overtime.

Dominic Hammond had 24 points to lead Fordyce.

Johnson led the Dragons with 23 points, while Dade had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Allen had 10 points and seven rebounds and Key finished with 10 points eight rebounds and four assists.
