EHS swim teams finish sixth at Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE - El Dorado’s swim teams traveled to Russellville on Thursday and competed in the Coach Knudsen Invitational at the Russellville Aquatic Center. El Dorado finished sixth in both the boys’ and girls’ events.

Russellville won the boys’ title with Fayetteville dominating in the girls.

The Lady Wildcats were led by Adrianna Arnold, who finished fourth in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 100 butterfly and Grace Williamson, who was fourth in the 100 freestyle.

Braden Major touched third in the boys’ 200 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle.

Coach Courtney Canady said her swimmers are rounding into form.

“We've already had a few hit state qualifying times for the season,” she said. “Braden Major has qualified in the 200 free, 100 free, 500 free, and is less than one second from qualifying in the 100 back. Adrianna Arnold has qualified in the 200 free, 200 IM, 500 free, and 100 fly. Jana Powell has qualified in the 200 free and is less than two seconds from qualifying in her 500 free. Jack Dunn has qualified in the 50 free.”

El Dorado will hold its first home meet on Thursday at HealthWorks Fitness Center.
