SouthArk downed on road

With two games remaining before taking a month-long break, South Arkansas Community College’s men’s basketball team finds itself looking to gather some momentum.

On Monday night, the Stars lost their third straight after getting downed at Connors State (Okla.) 97-72.

Albert Shell knocked down seven of his 14 shots for the Stars to finish with 16 points.

Braedon Edison had 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Nyseia Williams also scored 13 points in the contest for the Stars.

E.J. Anderson and Raheem Briggs each had nine points for SouthArk.

The Stars shot 43% from the floor, but struggled at the free-throw line, connecting on just six of their 14 attempts.

Xavier Glenn had 37 points and Bradyn Hubbard had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds for Connors State.

The Stars (4-4) head to Eastern Oklahoma State on Saturday before finishing the 2022 portion of their schedule on Tuesday at East Texas Baptist JV.

SouthArk’s women’s team plays it’s final game of the 2022 slate on Thursday when they host Mississippi Delta. Game time is set for 5 p.m.

The Stars (1-6) fell to Champion Christian College 95-63 in their last outing on Dec. 1.
