FORDYCE – Kriston Belin rushed for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns, as Fordyce knocked off Junction City 42-6 in an 8-2A showdown on Friday night.

The Redbugs (4-2, 1-0), who had 384 of their 407 yards of total offense on the ground, won their second straight.

The Dragons (2-4, 0-1), who had four turnovers in the contest, lost their third straight.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Dragons fell behind 7-0, but closed to within a point on an 11-yard touchdown run by AJ Ivory.

However, Belin scored on a 37-yard run with 1:50 left in the half, and the Redbugs’ defense scored on a fumble just 25 seconds later to extend their lead to 21-6.

Belin later scored on an 88-yard run in the second half for Fordyce.

Ivory finished with 102 yards on 19 carries for the Dragons, who had 225 yards of total offense.

Junction City continues their road swing next week when they play at Union County rival Parkers Chapel.

Fordyce is idle next week.
