El Dorado competes at state cross country meet

HOT SPRINGS – El Dorado competed in the 5A Cross Country State Championships Friday at Oaklawn Park. The Lady Wildcats finished 13th with the Wildcats claiming 19th in the boys division.

Sophomore Emma McGee led El Dorado’s girls, running 21:24.86 to finish 24th out of 158 runners.

Lake Hamilton’s Olivia Pielemeier won the championship with a time of 18:44.61.

Freshmen Carly Meadows and Clarabeth both recorded personal best times. Meadows ran 23:56.47 to finish 82nd with Black timing at 23:56.75 to finish 83rd. Eliza Brewster finished 123rd with Ava Seymour and Aubree Ezell both clocking career-best times to place 124th and 141st, respectively.

Freshman Zachary McMillon led the Wildcats, finishing 49th with a personal best time of 17:59.58. The field featured 201 runners. Mountain Home’s Andrew Westphal won the race with a time of 15:41.62.

El Dorado’s Edwin Gonzalez finished 133rd followed by Alex Espinoza (137th), Hunter Nutt (140th), Eli Rodriguez (157th), Ismael Gonzalez (193rd) and Carson Chambers (194th).

Rodriguez, Ismael Gonzalez and Chambers had personal best times.

Lake Hamilton won the boys’ title while Mountain Home edged Lake Hamilton to win the girls’ title.
