Vaccine clinics today
Two COVID-19 vaccine clinics are scheduled in the area today. The Union County Local Health Unit at 301 American Rd. will host a clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Columbia County Local Health Unit at 207 S. Jefferson in Magnolia will host a clinic from 2 to 5:30 p.m.
Insurance is not required for vaccination. Call 1-800-985-6030 to set an appointment.
Workforce Development meeting today

Acrylic workshop today
The South Arkansas Arts Center will host the second part of an acrylic painting workshop led by Maria Botti-Villegas today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This part of the workshop will focus on the use of acrylic techniques like underpainting, mixed media and canvas textured surfaces. Part two will be held again on May 13.
Cost for the Zoom workshop is $125 for an individual part or $200 for both.

Drivers license testing site closed May 13
The Hampton drivers license testing site will be closed on Thursday, May 13.
El Dorado Works Board meeting canceled
The regularly scheduled meeting of the El Dorado Works Board has been canceled. The meeting had been scheduled for 5:15 p.m. today in City Hall.
Early voting in school election begins
Early voting in school board and millage elections begins today. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Union County Clerk’s Office at the county Courthouse.
