Trio of EHS cheerleaders finalize college choices

by Tony Burns | May 3, 2021 at 9:00 p.m.

El Dorado’s cheerleading program saw three of its girls take their talents to the collegiate level. Karli New, Micaela Martinez and Layken Grimes will all be on college squads next season after signing Monday at Wildcat Arena.

Grimes signed with Kansas State with New going to the University of Central Arkansas and Martinez to Henderson State.

“These girls have worked incredibly hard to earn these spots,” said El Dorado cheer coach Tab Bledsoe. “They will join the rest of our alumni still cheering in college: Autumn Parker at Mississippi State, Emme Landes at the University of Arkansas, Cameron Pool at Louisiana Tech, Takayla Dunn at UCA, Madison Jackson at OBU and Jessie Pitts at SAU.

“They will represent EHS well.”
