El Dorado athletic director Phillip Lansdell announced the hiring of Ashlee Curtis as the new senior varsity girls' basketball coach. Curtis was the head ninth grade coach at El Dorado for the past two seasons.

"We are excited to have Ashlee Curtis as our new varsity girls basketball coach," said Lansdell. "Coach Curtis brings a very positive attitude and outlook to our program. She is a hard-working, enthusiastic and caring person who we know will move the program forward. She already knows our student-athletes and has coached many of them and took over the summer program in the absence of a head coach and did a good job."

Curtis replaces Jae Kell, who resigned last month to take an assistant coaching job in Russellville.
