SAAC will provide individually wrapped snacks and all the supplies needed on stage at your individual table. There is a limit of 10 participants. The workshop fee is $40.

Corks and Canvas classes have something for everyone, from the newbie to the seasoned artist. Enjoy a time of relaxation with your friends re-creating Hayes’ featured projects of the night. Inks, brushes, and all the supplies are provided, and an experienced, award-winning local artist leads you step-by-step through the process complete a work of art in three hours.

Hayes is an El Dorado native who is currently working remotely for DreamWorks Animation as a Character FX Artist. In her free time, she runs an Etsy shop selling anything from sketches to decorative resin coasters.

She’s taken art lessons since she was young and, after quickly realizing pre-med wasn’t for her at Texas A&M University, decided to study animation. She went on to earn a Masters in Visual Effects from Savannah College of Art and Design. Katy uses traditional art to get back to the root of why she wanted to study animation in the first place—she loves art!

“I’m excited to be back in El Dorado, and I hope you’ll join me in playing with some alcohol inks (while we enjoy a little alcohol)!” Hayes said. “Participants will experiment with alcohol ink in the form of paintings, coasters and even a little fire!”

For more information or to register for this workshop, call the SAAC office at 870-862-5474 or visit saac-arts.org.

In accordance with government regulations, masks will be required. Attendees must sign in at the door and have your temperature taken. Tables will be physically distanced and attendance will be limited for guest safety.

SAAC is located at 110 E. 5th St. in El Dorado.
