Perry nearly sets record in Roadrunners' win

California State University Bakersfield point guard Czar Perry posted a double-double with 12 points and a new career-high 11 assists Saturday in the Roadrunners’ 65-50 victory over UC San Diego. Perry’s assists total came up one shy of CSUB’s Division I single-game record

•El Dorado native Izzy Gati, a junior swimmer at the University of Kentucky, has the eighth best time in the nation in the 200 butterfly (1:54.25), the 19th best time in the 100 butterfly (52.61) and the 23rd best time nationally in the 200 individual medley (1:57.68). Gati is also a member of the fifth ranked 800 freestyle relay team and the sixth ranked 200 medley relay.

•El Dorado’s BJ Johnson scored two points Friday in Arkansas Tech’s 81-59 loss to OBU. He scored 10 points with three assists in the Wonder Boys’ 89-76 win over Harding earlier in the week.

•West Side Christian’s Stephfan Tabe saw action in OBU’s win over Arkansas Tech on Friday.

•West Side Christian’s Anna Williams had seven assists and two digs in UCA’s 25-20, 25-18, 25-19 volleyball loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Saturday.

•Parkers Chapel’s Taylor Langston pitched two innings in Henderson State’s 4-3 win over SAU on Friday. Langston allowed one hit with a walk and a strikeout.

•Smackover’s Beau Burson pitched one inning in OBU’s 16-4 loss to SAU on Saturday. Burson allowed four hits and four earned runs.
