Parkers Chapel gets past Ouachita 11-1

PARKERS CHAPEL - Parkers Chapel’s pitching rotation has been on a roll of late.

Following Trace Shoup’s effort against Monticello and Reid Cates’ shutout of Fordyce, Caleb Barnes went the distance with a five-hitter to lead the Trojans past Ouachita 11-1 on Tuesday.

Barnes walked two and didn’t record any strikeouts, but surrendered just five singles, three of which came from Kaden Fulmer.

In their last three games, the Trojans have allowed just four runs.

The Trojans pounded out 12 hits in the win with Chris Greer going 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the charge.

Shoup went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and two RBIs, Mason Dougan was also 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI and Blake Caldwell finished 2-for-4 with an RBI while scoring three runs in the win.

Spencer Frisby was the fourth Trojan to record a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI while scoring two runs.

Barnes also helped himself by driving in two runs, and Cates had an RBI in the win.

Winners of three straight, the Trojans (13-5) played at Genoa Central on Wednesday.
