SMACKOVER – Smackover completed a doubleheader sweep in nearly record time on Tuesday. The Lady Bucks beat Lake Village 15-0 and 16-0 in a pair of three-inning 3A-8 games. Smackover improved to 19-2 overall and 6-0 in league.
Karis Robinson allowed one hit with seven strikeouts in the first game.
The Lady Bucks scored 10 runs in the first and five in the second, taking advantage of 16 walks by the Lady Beavers.
Malorie Pullin was 1-for-1 with four RBI. Hannah Parker had a hit and two RBI. Lindy Bates was 1-for-1 with an RBI and Reese McKinnon drove in two.
In the second game, Smackover scored 10 in the first and six in the second. The Lady Bucks had 12 hits in the game, led by Gabbi Kelly, who went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. Robinson was 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a two-run homer. Mackenzie Preston was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI. Pullin was 2-for-2 with two RBI. Bates had a double and drove in a run. Claire Schibler had a hit and drove in two.
Pullin was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits, including a bunt, with seven strikeouts in three innings.
