Datamax holds ribbon cutting ceremony

Datamax had their ribbon cutting ceremony with the El Dorado Union County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Datamax is an office equipment supplier that has been in business for over 35 years and has several locations across both Texas and Arkansas, with El Dorado becoming home to their latest location.

“We’ve (Datamax) always done business here, but to have an address here makes us a part of this special community,” Area Manager Lee Wheelington said.

Datamax may be new to El Dorado but their team is quite familiar with the community and has an El Dorado native on board.

“We wanted a local person and Brandy was it,” Wheelington said.

Brandy Jones, Datamax Account Manager and Ambassador to the El Dorado Union County Chamber of Commerce, is excited for Datamax to be here, she said.

“We are thrilled to be in El Dorado. We have been open since May but because of COVID-19 and the guidelines around that, we had to wait to do our ribbon cutting,” Jones said. “It is really nice to welcome people into our space and finally be able to have this ceremony.”

The company prides itself on its years of expertise in office equipment and technology and are hoping to serve the community well, Wheelington said.

“We do our best to always have the latest in new and fresh technology and office equipment. We want community members to have access to our services and what we have to offer,” he said.

The ribbon cutting was quite festive. Visitors got to test out the Body Temperature Screening Kiosk, offered through Datamax, that stood outside the front entrance. Pastries, baked goods, refreshments, and Datamax goodie bags were handed out, and some advanced office equipment like all-in-one printers, copiers and scanners anchored one side of the room were on display.

The company was just recently named on the “Best Places to Work” in Arkansas list for a fourth straight year by Arkansas Business.

Datamax is located at 106 West Main Street, Suite 408 and is ready for business.
