Murphy Arts District has announced that MAD on Ice will return for a second year beginning November 20 and running through January 3, 2021.

“We are grateful to the El Dorado A&P Commission and Murphy USA for their support in helping make MAD on Ice a reality this year! We are thrilled to provide this fun activity for our community and visitors alike this holiday season,” said Pam Griffin, MAD President & CEO.

Tickets cost $12 per person for unlimited skating per day. Skate rentals cost $3 per person and are available in both adult and kids sizes. MAD members can enjoy free skates from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. by presenting their member card. Regular operational hours and holiday hours will be listed on eldomad.com/madonice.

There are two types of skating aids or ‘helpers’ - Bobby the Seal and Tommy the Reindeer, which will help both adults and children enjoy the ice. Each are available for rent at $10 for a 90-minute cycle (as defined by the period in between ice cleaning with the re-surfacer). Helmets will be available for free on a first come, first served basis. A skating waiver form must be filled out for each person skating or watching from the stage.

“Observing COVID-19 guidelines will play a big role in keeping everyone safe and comfortable while skating this year. All guests and employees will be required to wear a mask at all times and rink capacity will be limited to 46 skaters at a time to maintain a safe environment. All contact surfaces will be wiped down every 90 minutes during the ice resurfacing as an extra precaution,” said Joanna Benson, MAD Marketing Coordinator.

Those that are unable to attend MAD on Ice this year will have the opportunity to watch from home on the KTVE/KARD myarklamiss live cam.

Season Passes will be available providing unlimited skating time plus skate rentals for a cost of $75 for an individual or $125 for two people. Season passes will be available for purchase online at eldomad.com/madonice or by calling 870-444-3007. There will also be a pay-as-you-go skating punch card, offering “skate nine times and the tenth is free.”

The skating rink will be available for a limited amount of hosted special events or rental buyouts. Please contact [email protected] or 870-444-3007 for “Rent the Rink” options. For more information about MAD on Ice, visit: www.eldomad.com/madonice.
