Donald “Wayne” Gathright, 64, passed away from a recent Illness and left for his heavenly home November 12, 2020. He was born April 9, 1956 to Johnny Doyle Gathright & Mary Emogene of Huttig, AR where he spent his younger years, before marrying Renee’ at the age of 24. Wayne was a faithful man. If you know, you just know. Some may consider him impatient as he was so fast paced- he could walk so fast you had to run to keep up, and he was always early. But, He really was the most patient and forgiving man. He stood by Renee’s side through her sickness that she battled for 12 years, before she passed away.

He then found a gem to add to the family when he married Sharon Elledge Gathright on September 5, 2009. It was as if the Elledge’s had always been family to us.

He was our pillar. Our daddy, our papaw, a devoted husband, a brother, and loyal friend.

He spent his life doing what he loved, creating and dreaming. He owned and created United Machine Works & River Bottom Lures.

If you ever spent time with dad, he made sure you had something to eat. He loved to cook breakfast and make his mommas homemade biscuits, and we’ll never ever forget his gumbo.

He also loved crappie fishing.

Most importantly, he loved and adored spending time with his family, being in church, and he loved his pastor. He was a faithful member of The Pentecostals of Magnolia, where he was active in ministry as a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International.

He was proceeded in death by his dad, mom, brother, and Renee.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children and grandkids- Brandon Gathright, Emily, and their children- Bentley, Chloe, Hunter, Rebekah, Jonathan; Brandi Cotterman, George, and their children- Brayden and Gage; Brianna Belton, husband John, and their son Huxley. His sister Dorothy, and brothers Paul & Johnny. He has an army of extended family and friends that will miss him so much.

We will sure miss him walking us to our vehicles each time we had to leave to go home, anything to keep us as long as possible. We will never doubt his love for us. Heaven truly gained a mighty man.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Pentecostals of Magnolia Church in Magnolia, AR. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Pentecostals of Magnolia Church with Bro. Jason Wylie and Bro. Michael Faulk officiating.
