The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported finding the body of a deceased male outside of El Dorado city limits on Thursday.
Capt. Jeff Stinson, chief investigator for the UCSO, said a person checking their hunting land discovered the remains and called the Sheriff’s Office. The first deputy arrived on scene at about 11 a.m. Thursday.
Along with the remains, “personal effects” were found at the scene, Stinson said.
The remains were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab Friday morning for examination, Stinson said. Until results are returned, the UCSO cannot make a positive identification on the body or determine cause of death, he said, adding that he expects to receive results by Monday or Tuesday.
