Smackover downed by Fouke at district tournament

PRESCOTT – Smackover’s season came to an end with a 69-54 loss to Fouke in the opening round of the 7-3A District Tournament on Monday.

The seventh-seeded Bucks (4-22) placed three players in double figures with Brandon Lockhart scoring 16 points to lead Smackover.

Daylon Gurley, who scored 19 points against the Panthers on Jan. 24, added 15 points for the Bucks.

D’Kylan Hildreth chipped in with 13 points for Smackover.

Seth Phillips had 23 points for the sixth-seeded Panthers (10-15), who swept the two conference games during the regular season by a combined 11 points before topping the Bucks for the third time this season.

LADY TROJANS DOWNED

Parkers Chapel’s junior girls came up short in the finals of the 8-2A District Tournament by falling to Lafayette County 59-44.

Makenzie Morgan had 15 points, while Brookelynn Porter had nine points and Krista Rivers finished with eight points in the contest.

The Lady Trojans finished the season with a 15-3 record.
