The pageant will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at at the Coronado Cente, 150 Ponderosa Lane, in Hot Springs Village.

The pageant is open to all Arkansas women over the age of 60 who are citizens of the United States, have lived in Arkansas for more than six months and have never held a Senior America title in any other state. Contestant application deadline is March 1.

Contestants are judged in four categories:

• Talent: Sing; dance; tell a story; display art, needlecraft, dress design or photography; play an instrument; give a dramatic reading; make the judges laugh; recite poetry; or show another talent in 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

• Private Interview: Interview with a panel of independent and qualified judges.

• Evening Gown: Show poise and beauty.

• Philosophy of Life: Share your principles of life in 35 seconds.

"If stretching into your best self, having fun, making new friends and learning new things about becoming more — if any of that sounds the least bit interesting, give yourself the gift of checking out this experience. A crown is a symbol — not of beauty — but of having something to give after a lifetime of doing and growing," said Sharon Morgan Tahaney, Ms. Senior Arkansas America 2019.
