The Union County Sheriff's Office has identified Lovell Govan, Jr. as a suspect in a shooting that took place in Strong Wednesday night.

According to a press release from UCSO Chief Investigator Capt. Jeff Stinson, deputies responded to the 100 block of North Hickory Street in Strong, where they found two female victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. One was 39 years old and the second was 17 years old.

A third, uninjured victim reported to deputies that she had stopped by the home, where the two injured victims lived, and was met by Govan, who had, prior to the shooting, been holding the woman and juvenile at the residence. Govan allegedly shot both inured victims, the younger of whom was the daughter of the older woman, multiple times.

The third victim told deputies Govan held her and her four-year old child, threatening them with a firearm, at the residence as well.

The third victim was able to flee the residence during a moment when Govan was distracted, according to Stinson's press release. She went to a neighbor's residence to call 911.

The two injured victims also attempted to flee at that time. Govan fired another shot at the 39 year old woman, shooting her in her face.

Govan then fled the area in the third victim's vehicle, according to Stinson's press release, and was last believed to be southbound from Strong.

The older victim was transported from the Medical Center of South Arkansas to Little Rock, where she is still undergoing treatment. Union County Sheriff Ricky Roberts said Thursday morning they did not currently know her condition. Her daughter was treated and released from MCSA.

Warrants have been issued for Govan, 46, of Huttig for multiple counts of attempted capital murder, kidnapping, burglary and theft of property. He was last known to be driving a silver 2014 Mazda 6, with an Arkansas license plate numbered LPN 386YDR.
