Parkers Chapel’s Ali Looney finished second Saturday in the senior girls’ division of the Moro Bay Invitational. The junior ran a 21:26 over the 5,000-meter course.

“I’ve ran here before, so I was familiar with the course and the course isn’t that hard,” Looney said. “But the heat today made it a little more difficult. I’ve been training hard the past three weeks, so I was pleased with my finish.”

Looney was a distant second behind a runner from Cedar Creek (La.).

“I couldn’t run with the girl that won today. She ran a really fast time,” she said.”

Parkers Chapel’s Maddison Sullivan ran a 29:52 and Taylor Fortune ran 31:08.
