City Arrests

• Leslie M. Craig, 31, of the 3000 block of North West Avenue, was arrested Sept. 13 for first-degree terroristic threatening, possession of a Schedule II narcotic and violation of a No-Contact Order. Lee R. Williams Jr., 55, of the 500 block of Pelham, was also arrested Sept. 13 for violation of a No-Contact Order. Police responded to Econolodge, 1920 Junction City Road, in reference to an altercation and a threat involving an employee. Upon arrival, they made contact with Craig and Williams, whose shirt was torn. Both were taken into custody after officers learned they had active No-Contact Orders against each other. An employee told officers that Craig and Williams fought in the parking lot after they attempted to rent a room. Craig did not like the room that was offered to her and she walked away, returning a short time later with Williams to rent another room, the complainant said. She said the pair began arguing again and walked outside, where Craig began striking Williams. The employee said Craig then produced a knife and waved it in the air while screaming. The employee said she told Williams and Craig that police had been called and as she locked the door, Craig yelled at her to “mind her business” and issued a terroristic threat against her. During a search at the Union County Jail, jail personnel found a pill bottle that belonged to Craig. They said the bottle contained four hydrocodone pills but the pills were not prescribed to Craig.

• Michael A. Crawford, 20, of the 500 block of South Madison, was arrested Sept. 10 for breaking or entering, first-degree criminal mischief and criminal trespass. Crawford is accused of breaking into a soft drink vending machine at the Delek Control Center,309 N. Washington, and damaging the lock on a private gate as he was leaving the facility. An employee told police the incident, which occurred just after 1 a.m., was captured on surveillance video and he provided a description of the suspect. Moments later, police spotted a man, later identified as Crawford, walking south on Washington, noting that he matched the description that was provided by the complainant. Crawford told officers that the vending machine was already open and he did not take anything from it.

• Rickey J.K. Campbell, 18, of the 900 block of West Cook, was arrested Sept. 9 for breaking or entering. Police reported hearing a vehicle alarm while on routine patrol in the 300 block of North Jefferson. Witnesses reported seeing a male attempting to break into several vehicles in a parking lot in the 300 block of North Washington and when the victims activated their vehicle alarms, the suspect ran east. While circulating the area, police said they saw a male, later identified as Campbell, “emerge from the shadows” in the area of Madison and Faulkner and he began running east. They said Campbell matched the description provided by witnesses. Police said Campbell was not wearing a gray hoodie as described by witnesses but the rest of his clothing fit the suspect information that was provided. Police said they apprehended Campbell and a witness positively identified him as the suspect.

• A 16-year-old boy was arrested Sept. 11 for theft of property. The boy’s mother reported that a handgun was stolen from her residence in the 500 block of Bruster and she said she suspected the boy of taking the gun. Investigators said they interviewed the boy two days later and he admitted taking the gun. He was released on a citation to appear in Union County Juvenile Court.

• Ronald G. Lowery, 60, of Texarkana, was arrested Sept. 7 for possession of drug paraphernalia. Police responded at 10:17 a.m. to a report of an unwanted person at Brookshire’s, 220 S. West Ave. Police said they made contact with Lowery, who was sitting inside his vehicle. Lowery consented to a search of the vehicle and inside the glove compartment, police said they found a metal spoon with methamphetamine and a syringe.

• Gregory C. Slade, 27, of the 1100 block of North Gray, was arrested Sept. 6 for attempted residential burglary and criminal trespassing. An officer who was working off-duty security detail at Haygood Neal Garden Apartments, 1315 E. First, reported hearing a group of residents shouting at Slade. The officer said he separated Slade from the group and a witness said Slade had tried to break into a vacant apartment in an “attempt to make contact with his girlfriend”, who lived in another apartment. The witness said Slade was force open the door and several residents began chasing him. Police said the witness advised Slade to leave, citing a no trespassing policy at the apartment complex. The officer said he escorted Slade off the property and told him not to return. A short time later, the officer said he saw Slade running across the parking lot toward the apartment building in which his girlfriend lives. A large crowd then ran toward the building and an altercation ensued with Slade. A witness said Slade attempted to kick in the door of his girlfriend’s apartment. Slade was then taken into custody, police said. Police said they received information that Slade may have been involved in an altercation with his girlfriend earlier in the day.

City Reports

• A woman reported Sept. 13 several break-ins at her residence in the 500 block of Beverly Drive. She said several items were missing or had been “moved around.” The woman said she has changed the locks at the residence but the new locks have not deterred the suspect(s).

• A woman reported Sept. 12 the theft of a handgun from her residence in the 1000 block of East Pecan. She said she did not know when the theft occurred.

• A woman told officers Sept. 11 that a relative stole items valued at $2,000 from a shed at another relative’s house in the 200 block of East Center. The woman said the suspect took her clothes, boots, family photographs and speakers from the shed.

• On Sept. 11, a woman told police that her boyfriend attacked her at their residence in the 500 block of East First. She said the suspect was upset when he came home and upon entering the residence, he “told her to go into the room, where he locked her in.” She said that when she tried to talk to the suspect, he shoved her to the floor and began choking her. She said he struck her in the neck and face and pushed her face into the floor while he punched her in the head. The woman said she was able to get the suspect off her and she left the residence, telling police that the suspect chased her as she got into her vehicle and drove away. Police said the suspect had left the residence by the time they arrived. Officers said the woman had non-life-threatening injuries to her neck and face that were consistent with her account of incident.

• A woman reported Sept. 11 that a relative forged the complainant’s signature on a check in the amount of $460. The complainant was arrested the previous day on three warrants for violation of the Arkansas Hot Check Law and she was released on a citation to appear in 35th Judicial District Court. A police report did not indicate if the warrants were related to her complaint about the alleged forgery.

• A burglary was reported Sept. 10 at the Sno Shack, 1104 Mount Holly Road. A payroll check and an undetermined amount of cash were reported missing.

• A woman told police Sept. 10 that man “on Facebook” sent her two fraudulent checks, totaling $7,505.95. She said the man sent the checks in exchange for gift cards that he had asked her to purchase and send to him. She said the checks bore the name Texas Foresight, Inc., and an address in San Marcos, Texas.

• On Sept. 10, a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend fired two gunshots outside her residence in the 1000 block of Booker T. Washington. She said the suspect had sent her threatening text messages throughout the day and just after 9 p.m., he came to her residence and began knocking on the door. She said he refused her demands to leave and he “pulled a pistol from his side” and fired two rounds. When officers arrived, the woman said she was not sure if the suspect was still on the scene and made statements indicating that he could possibly be inside the residence. While clearing the residence, police said they found a large bag of marijuana inside a closet. El Dorado Police Department narcotics investigators and an agent with the Arkansas Community Correction were summoned to the scene and the complainant, who was on parole, fled the scene and did not return, police said. Officers said they found more marijuana, digital scales, Splitarillos cigars and a grinder inside the residence and seized the item as evidence.

• A man reported Sept. 9 that someone fraudulently withdrew $2,200 from his bank account. He said he thinks the account was hacked.

• A woman told police Sept. 9 that someone forged a total of $776.29 to her checking account. She said officials from Southern Bancorp notified her that someone in Missouri had hacked into the mobile application to her bank account. She noted that one of the fraudulent purchases was charged to Domino’s Pizza in St. Louis. While speaking with El Dorado police, the woman contacted St. Louis police, who said the suspects had been detained at the St. Louis Domino’s store.

• An employee of Sims Wrecker Service, 420 E. Barnes, reported that several burglaries have recently occurred at the property and the suspect(s) have caused significant damage throughout the building. Police said flooring had been ripped up, windows broken, desks damaged and wires missing from panels on the wall. They also said several windows were broken and a door was damaged. The complainant said she previously reported the incident but the responding officer did not file a report.

• On Sept. 9, a woman reported a burglary at her residence in the 100 block of Hargett Drive. The woman said a friend sent her a photo taken from Snapchat and the photo showed two males she knew inside her residence. She said a hoodie was stolen from the residence.

• Police responded Sept. 6 to a report of an aggravated assault at Home Depot, 507 W. 19th. An employee told officers that a co-worker “came after him with a knife.” The complainant said the pair spilled some boxes while working together and when he asked the suspect to help pick up the boxes, the suspect became angry and tried to provoke him into a fight. He said that when he refused to fight the suspect, the suspect produce a knife advanced toward him. The complainant said he retreated and the suspect left the store.

• A woman told police Sept. 8 that someone broke into her vehicle at Teague Ford Lincoln, 1730 W. Hillsboro, and stole two headrests with built-in TV screens, several DVDs and CDs and a box of automobile fuses. She said the break-in occurred Aug. 28 and she noticed the items missing while cleaning out the vehicle, noting that she had been out of town.

• On Sept. 8, a woman told police that a woman she knew entered her vehicle at her residence in the 700 block of Wilson, removed a clothes iron and threw the iron into the road, shattering it. The woman said that when she checked the vehicle, she noticed that$45 cash and a key missing.

• A woman reported Sept. 7 that someone broke into her residence in the 1300 block of West First and stole two televisions.

• A man told police Sept. 7 that his wallet was stolen at Long Branch Bar, 204 Strong Hwy. He said the wallet contained several credit cards, a Social Security card, driver’s license and health insurance card. other items. He said he later received a notification that someone was attempting to use his credit card at Walmart Supercenter, 2730 N. West Ave. He said the first transaction was declined but a second transaction was successful.
