Griffin Restaurant announces new hours
The Griffin Restaurant in the Murphy Arts District will begin new hours today. The restaurant will be open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; open for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5-9 p.m.; and open for brunch on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Prim joins Century 21 United team w/PHOTO
Jason Reed, principal broker and owner of Century 21 United, proudly announces the addition of Jackie Prim to the Century 21 United team! Originally a native of Houston, Jackie moved back to the El Dorado area in 1986. She has worked at Murphy Oil/ Murphy USA since 2009.
Jackie has a passion for photograpghy — and has attended LA Tech College of Liberal Arts to pursue this passion. Jackie became involved in real estate first through photography — as she worked as a consultant for several agents photographing new listings. She received her real estate license in 2019. Jackie is married to Eddie Prim and has four boys, Joshua Prim, Jacob Prim, Jacob Aaron Digby, and Mark. She is a proud grandmother to Kynnlee Prim. Jackie and Eddie are members at First Baptist Church of El Dorado.
Barton Public Library open house slated for Sept. 15
The Friends of Barton Library will host the Barton Public Library Open House on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2-3:30 p.m. at Barton Public Library (200 E. 5th St. in El Dorado). The Friends of Barton Library, a nonprofit organization, will offer tours and refreshments, and people can find out more about the organization, including how to join.
AETN ‘Country Fried’ podcast to premiere Sept. 10
Country Fried, a new podcast from the Arkansas Educational Television Network, will premiere Tuesday at facebook.com/aetntv and select podcast providers.
This podcast miniseries, hosted by Arkansas singer-songwriter Ryan Harmon, features conversations with country music icons and Arkansas favorites like Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Charlie Daniels, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and producer Shawn Camp, Marty Raybon of Shenandoah and others.
With new episodes posted every Tuesday, each episode takes listeners on a journey through the guest’s career, as they share stories and philosophies about the music business, while also aiming to answer the question – What does country music mean to you?
“Country Fried” is one of several AETN local productions made to accompany Ken Burns’ “Country Music,” premiering Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. on AETN.
