The El Dorado News-Times is hosting the CALL of Union County’s Playpen with a Purpose this week, taking donations for foster children throughout the county.

The CALL’s mission is to educate, equip and encourage the Christian community in the county to provide a future and hope for children in foster care. It is part of a statewide organization with the same mission.

The playpen with a purpose will be open for donations in the News-Times lobby through Friday. This month, the CALL is asking for toiletries, including deodorant, hygiene products for teenage girls and hair care products.

“We’re excited to partner with the CALL, and we hope we’re able to generate both donations and visibility for the Playpen with a Purpose program,” News-Times managing editor Caleb Slinkard said. “I would encourage members of the community to stop by the News-Times and donate if they are able. These donations will go to some of the neediest in our community.”

The playpen with a purpose will change locations next week.
