Fordyce ends Parkers Chapel's winning streak

FORDYCE - Parkers Chapel saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Friday night, as the Trojans fell at Fordyce 72-29 in an 8-2A contest.

Caleb Jacobs ran for two scores and threw for two more, but it wasn’t enough, as the Redbugs stayed undefeated.

“We had our opportunities to keep it close, but we made too many mistakes,” said Parkers Chapel coach Elliot Jacobs.

A senior, Caleb Jacobs scored on a 45-yard run to give the Trojans an early lead.

Jacobs also scored on a 20-yard run, and both of his touchdown passes went to Trace Shoup, spanning 40 yards and 10 yards, respectively.

Preston Stivender was 3-for-3 on extra points, and Nik Garcia caught a pass to make the Trojans’ lone two-point conversion successful.

The Trojans (5-2, 2-1) will host Pine Bluff Dollarway next week in non-conference play.

Fordyce (7-0, 3-0) heads to Junction City for an 8-2A clash that will likely determine the league champion.
