El Dorado freshmen top Mountain Home

El Dorado’s ninth-grade football team traveled to Little Rock and beat Mountain Home 41-26.

The Wildcats opened the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown run by Shadarius Plummer, followed by Omar Alshusa’s extra point. Deandre Burns followed with a 42-yard touchdown run. Alijah Staples caught the 2-point conversion.

In the second quarter, Plummer scored on a 10-yard run. El Dorado added to the point total when Jon Brooks Elia connected with Burns on a 28-yard TD pass. Alshusa kicked the PAT.

In the third quarter, Elia threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Jefferson. Alshusa added the kick. The Wildcats’ final score came on a 25-yard touchdown run by Plummer in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Japhen Baker and Nick Wilson were singled out by defensive coordinator Mason Guthrie.
