El Dorado High School’s Teenage Republicans are starting the political season with a recruiting event today after school.
Vice chairman Scott Ratchford said in an email correspondence that the event will be held in the EHS cafeteria from about 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Students will play a casual volleyball game and snacks will be served.
“We are inviting all EHS students, regardless of political affiliation, to come eat free pizza and play volleyball,” Ratchford said.
Ratchford said the event’s purpose is to raise awareness of the club and attract new members.
The EHS Teenage Republicans are affiliated with the National Teen Age Republicans.
EHS also has a club for the school’s left-leaning students, the Young Democrats, led by teacher sponsors Madison Campbell and Steven Meizler. They could not be reached to speak about upcoming events by press-time Monday.
