The El Dorado Police Department has arrested three people this week on a number of felony drug charges in unrelated incidents and two of the defendants are scheduled for first appearance hearings today in 35th Judicial District Court.

Christopher D. Jolley, 51, of the 500 block of Ripley Road, was arrested Wednesday as part of an investigation by the EPD’s Criminal Apprehension Division.

Jolley faces multiple charges, including four counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine, marijuana, Hydrocodone and Xanax, possession of a firearm by certain persons and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken into custody shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Main and David.

Jolley is expected to appear in district court today on the drug and firearm charges.

He was scheduled Thursday for an appearance in Union County Circuit Court on a felony charge of parole violation.

Jolley remained in the Union County jail late Thursday afternoon.

EPD investigators have not yet released further details about the arrest.

Amellio M. Meadows, 29, of Junction City, is also scheduled for a first appearance in district court today, his second such appearance this week.

Meadows remained in the Union County jail Thursday in lieu of a $40,000 bond that was set during a first appearance hearing Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by certain persons, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, failure to appear and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear.

The arrest was also initiated by CAD investigators, who spotted Meadows in the parking lot of Econolodge, 1920 Junction City Road, at approximately 12:40 p.m. Oct. 7.

Investigators said they made contact with Meadows due to an active arrest warrant for petition to revoke probation.

Meadows was apprehended after he fell to the ground during a brief foot chase, according to a police report.

During a search incident to arrest, police said they found a loaded handgun inside Meadows’s backpack and a container with a small amount of methamphetamine on his person.

Meadows is expected back in district court today to face a second felony charge of failure to appear and a misdemeanor warrant for enforcement of fines.

Hannah E. Bright, 18, of the 3000 block of Morgan Lane, was arrested Wednesday on misdemeanor charges of possession of a Schedule VI narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia and no seatbelt.

At 3:12 p.m., police initiated a traffic stop in the area of Timberlane and Oak after noticing that a woman — later identified as Bright — was not wearing a seatbelt while driving north.

Police said they could smell marijuana inside the vehicle and Bright admitted there was marijuana in a compartment underneath the dashboard.

Officers said they recovered a plastic bag containing approximately three grams of marijuana and a package of cigarillos from the compartment.

Inside the cigarillo package was a cigar that also contained marijuana, police said.

Bright was cited to appear Nov. 18 in district court to face the misdemeanor charges.
