Lady Wildkittens cruise to home win

Barton's eighth-grade girls basketball team picked up their first win of the year by topping Camden Fairview 44-15 Monday.

Re'Kiyah Howard had 13 points and Breyonia Jamerson added 10 points for Barton (1-3).

Aniyah Brown rounded out the Lady Wildkittens with seven points.

EL DORADO FRESHMEN TAKE SECOND

El Dorado's freshmen boys claimed the runner-up trophy in the Freshman Classic on Saturday. The Wildcats fell to Little Rock Parkview 60-50 in the championship game.

El Dorado (1-1) trailed 14-11 after one quarter and 31-25 at the half before tying the game 41-41 going into the fourth.

Bryson Boulden led the Wildcats with 15 points with Laronte McHenry scoring 12. Sha'darioius Plummer chipped in with seven.

El Dorado advanced to the finals with a 51-30 victory over Little Rock Fair. The Wildcats jumped out to a 20-6 lead and never looked back.

T.J. Dunn paced El Dorado with 12 points. Boulden added 10 and McHenry 7.

STARS DROP WEEKEND TILT IN OVERTIME

Javion Robinson had 27 points, but it wasn’t enough, as South Arkansas Community College fell to Blessed I.J.N. Prep 97-90 in overtime Saturday.

Robinson, who had nine rebounds, was one of three players in double figures with Tre Tolbert adding 16 points and Nate Evans had 12 points off the bench.

Jerrodney Tubbs just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and 18 rebounds.
