STRONG - Bearden scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to break a 6-6 tie en route to a 30-6 win over Strong Thursday night at Jerry Burson Field.

The win clinches a playoff spot for the Bears (2-8, 1-4), who will be the 8-2A's No. 5 seed and face 6-2A champion Des Arc next week.

Three weeks after scoring 84 points at Johnson County Westside, the Bulldogs (1-9, 0-5) ended the season scoring 14 points in their final three games, missing the postseason for the fourth straight year.

LaQuincy Shelton had the Bulldogs’ lone touchdown in the game in the first half.

The Bulldogs and Bears were tied at 6-6 at halftime, but the Bears’ second-half surge lifted them to the playoffs for the fourth straight year.
