Construction will soon begin on resurfacing just more than 6 miles of U.S. Highway 167.
The Arkansas State Highway Commission announced Tuesday that a bid had been approved for improvements to the road in Union County. According to a news release, the project will resurface 6.4 miles of U.S. Highway 167, beginning in Junction City and extending northward.
The contract was awarded to Jet Asphalt & Rock Company of El Dorado for roughly $4.09 million.
Construction is expected to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. The project should be completed in mid 2019.
