ARDIE D. LEWIS

Ardie Dale Lewis, 86, of Norphelt, AR passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. Ardie Dale was born on December 9, 1932 in Norphlet, AR to the late Edna Mae Fisher Lewis and Jimmie Herschel Lewis. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during his country for two years during the Korean Conflict Era. After being discharged from the service, Ardie Dale moved to Houston and began his working career at Gulf Oil. In 1960, He moved back to Norphlet and began working at Macmillan Oil Refinery, where he worked for the next twenty seven years until their close in 1987. He also did the books for Crotty Well Service for many years while working at Macmillan. He then worked for Felton Oil, Haley Oil and finally Sewell Oil before his retirement at age 81. Ardie Dale was a lifelong member of Norphlet United Methodist Church, where he was the oldest standing member. He was very active in the community, serving on the Norphlet School Board, Norphlet City Council and the Union County Quorum Court. He loved being outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing or camping, he enjoyed it all. He was a very patriotic man and held our countries flag dear to his heart. Most importantly, Ardie Dale loved the Lord and instilled that same love into his family.

Ardie Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janeene Lewis; sister, Delores Myers and a son in law, Ronnie Hughes.

Survivors include; four children, Tony Lewis(Suzanne), Tena Hughes, Tami Rogers(Craig), and Tyron Lewis(Thom Callaway); seven grandchildren, Lara Jurik(Fred), McKenzie Stokes(Brian), Tiffany Hughes, Gillian Hughes, Trent Rogers(Abby), Ahna Farrar(Gary Don), and Trevor Rogers(Ashley); six great grandchildren, Gabrielle Jurik, Georgie Stokes, Camp Stokes, Bexton Rogers, Noah Farrar and Lyla Kate Farrar; two nephews, Todd Bates, and Jimmy Dale Myers (Florence), along with a host of extended family members and friends

Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Norphlet United Methodist Church.

Memorial graveside services, with military honors, will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Ron Newberry officiating and under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
